Intermediate Bike Repair - Bearing Systems and Wheel Truing

Take your bike repair skills to the next level with this 3 hour workshop that will provide instructions on servicing bearing systems and truing wheels. We’ll walk through how to: disassemble hubs, remove and install cranks, service different types of headsets, and the different type of bottom brackets and how each is serviced. We’ll also cover how to true wheels both laterally and radially and how to replace a broken spoke.

The cost is $25 per person, and refunds are only given if you cancel with 48 hours notice. Please Register HERE.

Your own bike is not required for this class, demo bikes and wheels will be available to work on. If you do wish to bring your own bike please message us ahead of time to verify that the type of components on your bike will fit with the teaching content.

  • How to identify major bearing systems

  • How to remove and install cranks

  • Types of bottom brackets and how they are serviced

  • How to repack loose bottom bracket bearings

  • How to service a rear hub - replace bearings and new grease

  • How to remove a cassette or freewheel

  • How to replace a spoke

  • How to true a wheel laterally

  • How to true a wheel radially
