reCYCLE: A Community Art Competition

reCYCLE invites makers, artists, welders, and families to transform scrap bicycle parts (free from the shop) into unique works of art. Anyone can join! Register, select your scrap materials, and start creating.

Build anything you imagine — sculptures, wall art, furniture, jewelry, or wearable pieces. You can work at home or use our shop space and tools for free (included with registration).

Submit your finished piece by bringing them to the shop by 5pm on January 24 to be featured in our community showcase and for online voting. The public will vote for their favourite creation, and winners will receive prizes and plenty of bragging rights.

How It Works

  • Register (free!)

  • Pick up free materials from a selection of scrap parts available during open shop hours (note the shop will be closed for the holidays Dec 21 to Jan 7, open again Jan 8th - Thursdays and Saturdays only)

  • Create your art piece

  • Drop off your artwork by January 24th at 5pm

  • Community voting runs January 26th to February 2nd

  • Winners announced shortly after

Who Can Join?

Everyone — all ages, all skill levels, all creative ideas welcome!
